About

Creative Visionary. Passionate Communicator. Intentional Connector.

These words really do help define Matt Shepperd. Spending the last 13 years of his life devoted to both local church and itinerant work,  he has a passion for advancing the gospel of restoration and reconciliation of Jesus. And, Matt has had speaking experiences spanning the gamut of audiences and work environments alike. From church planting to the ‘mega-church world’, he has had a chance to see a lot in his 32 years of life. But, one thing you learn really quickly about Matt is that he walks what he talks.

Understanding God’s call for us to care for the poor, oppressed and marginalized in our world, Matt started an organization called I Am Change to allow ‘everyday world changers’ to address specific needs in the developing world and bring hope in desperate place. I Am Change was founded out of a heart of compassion for global needs and motivation to create a catalytic movement of these ‘everyday people’. Beyond cliche’, Matt really does ‘want to change the world’; and it seems as though he’s making great strides in that direction. Matt says, “The potential that lies in the hearts and hands of us as everyday people, (specifically the church at large) really can change the world if it were to become awakened. Yet, too often we allow ourselves to become paralyzed by fear or apathy, and the result is that nothing ever changes.  So, we must begin strategically engaging real needs in ways that we can grasp personally and that make a legitimate difference globally. If the hands that reach up in worship don’t stretch out to our brothers and sisters around the corner and around the globe, we’ve just become hypocritical!”

Matt spends his time traveling the US speaking in various venues, develops partnerships with individuals and organizations for I Am Change, and acts like he knows what he’s doing at the local skatepark. Matt is passionate about advancing the glory of God,  expanding people’s world-view and getting help to those who desperately need it.

Matt resides in The Woodlands, TX (Houston) with his wife Tracey and three sons; Eli, Owen and Grey.
